Since Its beginning, The River has been dedicated to local and global missions, taking the gospel message and the love of Christ to our community, our state, our nation and the world. Some of the projects we actively support include:

Urban Outreach, in the Phoenix metro area, Haiti Christian Orphanage in Port Au Prince, Haiti, River Of Revival Church in Arad, Romania, and various humanitarian aide trips to Mexico, just to name a few. More information about our missions and outreach departments are listed below.

URBAN OUTREACH: This ministry is one of The River's local mission's opportunities. This outreach occurs on the second Saturday of each month. Our team meets on the west-side of the building located near the main entrance at 7:30 a.m. After a time of prayer and instruction, we visit some of Phoenix's most poverty sticken neighborhoods where we distribute water, personal hygiene products (i.e. toothpaste, soap, socks and caps). Also, when given the opportunity, we offer prayer and personal ministry. If you are interested in donating products to help make this ministry successful or you would like to assist in the distribution process, please contact Pastors Budd and Susie Rodgers at 602-284-0137 or CLICK HERE.

HAITI CHRISTIAN ORPHANAGE: In 2004, during an intense worship service at The River, the Spirit of God fell as men and women spontaneously began to bring their offerings to the platform. At that time, Pastor Bryan had been sharing with the congregation about the terrible flooding that had hit many parts of Haiti. Many people lost their lives, children were orphaned within minutes and thousands lost their homes. The River responded to this need with an enormous generosity and we raised over $20K that morning. Together with Pastor Rick Van Hoose and his daughter Julie Wells from Bible Center Cathedral in Evansville, Indiana the River began to assist in making the children of HCO safe and successful. Several years have passed since that powerful Sunday morning service and Haiti continues to experience devastation, most recently the earthquake on January 13, 2010. Once again the River responded to this great need. We continue monthly support to over 100 children, helping them receive an adequate education, helping provide medical support and showing them the love and hope of Jesus. The following is a list of some of the needs we currently face.

  1. Continue to meet the daily needs of the people seeking refuge on our property with food, clean water, electricity, and emergency medical care for those who are extremely ill.
  2. Continue to meet the daily needs of the current orphans that HCO serves, and the additional children who seek refuge on our property. We have assumed full-time care of two additional children, and we are feeding approximately 50 children each day who are living with family or relatives on our property.
  3. Rebuild our church so that the people will have a place to worship. Currently, the members of our church are worshipping outside under a large, blue tarp.
  4. Begin helping refugee families re-build their homes and provide temporary housing with tents...BUT permanent structures are preferrable. Our goal is to help families re-gain their independence in a way that honors their integrity.
  5. Provide hot meals for teenagers who are homeless and provide tutoring in English, literature and math.
  6. Hire more Haitian staff to care for the growing needs of children at HCO and compensate those who are working many extra hours. Our Haitian staff (cooks, pastor, support-staff) is very appreciative to have employment, which in turn feeds their families and blesses their children.
  7. Hire tutors to come work with our older children who are very discouraged that they are not attending school. Currently, our school is closed and this is very disheartening to us and to the children.

The needs are great , but God is GREATER! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! We are so excited to partner with you to bring continued relief to Haiti!

River Of Revival Church- Arad, Romania: The River began supporting this brand new church in 2006 under the direction of Pastors Sammy and Ramona Caba. Pastor Caba and his wife felt the call to begin a church that would minister freedom and hope to their community and to the nation of Romania. This task has proven to be difficult and tiresome as the nation of Romania is steeped in traditional religious values based upon hundreds of years of government control. Pastor Bryan and his team of missionaries were priviledged to be a part of this church's humble yet powerful beginnings. Pastor Caba and his team held worship services in a small room they leased from a local business owner and eventually outgrew that location and relocated to a place where growth was possible. This ministry holds monthly and annual outreaches in their local communities to share the love of Jesus with anyone that is willing to listen. The River has continued to provide monthly financial and prayer support.

In addition to this missions project, Pastor Bryan and his team have assisted in starting a prayer revival located in Aradia, Romania that has been called the "Burning Bush Revival." This God encounter began in the late summer of 2006 with a few thousand men, women and children who traveled to the moutaintop, pitching their tents and seeking the face of God for three days. This revival has continued every year since and has grown to more than 25 thousand people in attendance. If you are intested in partnering with The River, donations can be made to the River Of Life Missions Department.
